Poor Barbara Judge. You would think the chairwoman of the Institute of Directors had a heart of stone after her comments on maternity leave last week.
“I know it’s counter-cultural but I think long maternity breaks are bad for women,” Lady Judge told the Women in Wealth Forum, creating some upset.
But the 69-year-old American-born lawyer — who earned the sobriquet “the Atomic Kitten” when she formerly headed the UK Atomic Energy Authority — told another story, which went unreported, revealing her softer side.
